We first purchased the property and created Casa La Paloma in 2001 and it quickly became a popular spot for vacationers from all over the world as well as a great family vacation destination for us. In 2017, we embarked on a year-long remodel and expansion project designed by our son Jake. The changes include an entirely new two-story structure and an expanded pool, as well as a major remodel of the existing structures. 

Part of what sets Casa La Paloma apart is the wonderful caretaker family that lives next door. They have been with us from the beginning. Gato, Yesi, Monse, and Emily are there when you need help or have any questions. But, throughout your stay the casa is yours. There are no unreasonable rules or any unwanted breaches of privacy. They are there to greet you with kindness, and help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Lifelong residents of the region, they are a great resource to help you navigate the area. Gato is an old school waterman with extensive knowledge of the ocean and the best surf spots. He is also a very talented gardener. Yesi is a very skilled cook. Most guests choose to contract with her to prepare some meals during their stay. They were both integral contributors to our new design and remodel. You will love them as much as we do!

As we embarked on our remodel project, we were determined to use as much locally sourced wood and other materials as possible.  We are proud of the craftsmanship and artistic touches which we will continue to enhance moving forward. A particularly delightful aspect is the wonderful mosaic tile work that is all around the property, most of it created by Santa Cruz, California artist Beth Purcell.

We are thrilled to be able to share our little slice of paradise with you. It is a truly special place, where time seems to stand still—a perfect location for those active adventurers who want to explore as well as those who would rather lounge in a hammock and read a book. It is an ideal destination for families, couples, groups of friends, and everything in between.
